IT’LL be anything but a silent night on December 13, when a popular entertainment precinct jingles its festive bells.
The Wilston Village Christmas Festival will feature carollers, games, face painting, special food and retail deals from 3.30pm on Kedron Brook Rd and MacGregor St.
Enoggera ward Councillor Andrew Wines said the event would also feature some very special guests.
“Santa will be there, of course, but you will also be able to do something at Wilston that you cannot do anywhere else — you will be able to pat a reindeer and a take a photograph with one,” Cr Wines said. “It’s going to be a great event.”
Kedron Brook Business Group spokesman Robert Cooper said the event, sponsored by Brisbane City Council, was being staged to remind residents about the fun that was to be had at the shopping and entertainment precinct.
“We hope everyone can come along — families, young couples, the elderly,” Mr Cooper said. “We hope that they are reminded about what a special place Wilston Village is and how lucky we are to have it.
“Come and visit, check out the venues, the services offered, and the potential for it to be a real community hub. When you have a village that is a real hub and a great reputation, it adds value to the reasons we live in the Wilston, Windsor and Grange area.
“It is important to note — Use it or lose it.”
Information about the festival can be found on Facebook, search for “Wilston Village Christmas Festival”.
The event is on December 13, from 3.30pm to 7pm, Kedron Brook Rd, Wilston.
