Wild footage has emerged of a driver slamming on their brakes to avoid out-of-control hoons driving erratically along the Bruce Highway.
Described as the “notorious northside takeover”, the video shows hoons in balaclavas allegedly unscrewing tyres from vehicles before performing burnouts while driving southbound on the Bruce Highway toward Brisbane’s Gateway Motorway.
In the footage one vehicle spins out of control, narrowly missing another car and forcing the driver of the other car to brake suddenly.
At least two vehicles in the footage were missing license plates.
The clip ends with a police car driving in the opposite direction, lights flashing.
The vision, uploaded to Instagram on Saturday night, has gone viral in under 24 hours, racking up more than 188,000 views.
It is not clear when the footage was taken.
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said police are aware of the video and the matter is under investigation.
