Nine fire vehicles including one with a large ladder battled to control a fire on the fifth level of a carpark in Brisbane’s northside overnight.
The fire on Mina Pde broke out about 8.20pm for unknown reasons, possibly an electrical fault.
Firefighters searched every level but found no one on site.
Five fire pumps and a Queensland Fire and Emergency Service vehicle with a long ladder, as well as three other QFES vehicles, were called to the scene.
Police also attended. They declared a crime scene and investigations into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
The 20m wide, 10m high flames could be seen all over the inner-north suburb.
By 9.25pm firefighters had the blaze under control but they were still dealing with hot spots at 11pm.
The fire was finally extinguished at 11.20pm.
Investigators were expected back on site today.
