Over a two-month period Cassidy, 22, repeatedly received property he knew was stolen, sold hundreds of dollars’s worth of goods to pawn brokers and was caught on CCTV breaking into the Woodford tip.

The court heard Cassidy’s fingerprints were found in the passenger seat of a stolen vehicle and he was later found in possession of a stolen car key.

At two different dates he fraudulently sold more than $400 worth of stolen tools and fishing equipment to pawn brokers

The court heard Cassidy has a drug problem that started after he had to declare himself bankrupt when he was 18-years-old.

He was sentenced to 12 months prison, and granted immediate release on parole.
