Man repeatedly messaged and called a woman telling her he would ‘slit her throat’
He told her he ‘knew where she lived’ and she should ‘watch her back’ in series of threatening phone contacts.

An intellectually and cognitively impaired man made phone threatening phone calls and messages where he threatened to slit a woman’s throat has been jailed.
On June 16 the man, who cannot be named, called the woman from a phone number that she did not know. When she picked up she immediately recognised his voice.
In the phone call and subsequent text messages he told her to “watch her back” and threatened to “slit her throat”.

Then on June 7 the woman noticed an unknown number calling her phone and did not answer.
The man left her a number of threatening voicemails telling her he knew where she lived and he didn’t care if she called the police.
The 22-year-old man pleaded guilty at Pine Rivers Magistrates Court to breaching parole and two breaches of a domestic violence order.
The court heard the woman felt scared and intimidated.
When police interviewed the man he told them he had contacted the woman with the intention of scaring her.
The court heard the man had previously been convicted of stalking.
Reports tendered to the court showed the man had intellectual and cognitive difficulties as well as Asperger’s Syndrome and ADHD.
His lawyer Farah Haddad said his client had lived in an abusive household as a child and had been placed in care.
Magistrate Trevor Morgan said the domestic violence incidents were “particularly serious” but due to his mental health concerns the court should take a sympathetic view towards him.
He was sentenced to one year in jail and allowed to apply for parole immediately. The court heard if he is granted parole it will not be three to four months.
