A north Brisbane man has been busted for possessing weapons and producing several kilos of cannabis lollies.

The 26-year-old stonemason’s home was searched by police on October 29, 2021, where they found two weapons, drug utensils and 7kg of cannabis lollies.

“It is quite an unusual case given the infusion of cannabis into the lollies,” police prosecutor Vicky Kennedy said.

“He was found possessing a taser and an item that is a category B weapon.”

Cumming’s lawyer, Grace Townsend, said the lollies were for personal use.

“He suffers significant back pain because of his work,” Ms Townsend said.

“He has a condition affecting his kidney function which means he is unable to take most painkillers, (such as) Panadol, ibuprofen.”

Magistrate Annette Hennessey said the use of making his own cannabis lollies was unusual.

“They are certainly a bit out of the ordinary,” Ms Hennessey said.

Cummings was convicted, sentenced to six months imprisonment for producing dangerous drugs, two months prison for possession of a thing used in the commission of a crime, and two months for possessing drug utensils.

He was fined $1000 for possession of two weapons and $400 for possessing explosives.

All convictions were recorded.

Cumming’s parole eligibility date was on Friday (June 24).
