The court heard that Palmer received bank cards that had been stolen from unlocked cars in Sunnybank Hills, South Brisbane and Redcliffe then used them to rack up more than $500 in charges.
Palmer used paywave to make purchases at First Choice Liquor, Woolworths at Redcliffe, Signal at Redcliffe, Seafood Lovers at Margate, Bottle Mart at Margate, two Terry White Chemists and the 7 Eleven at Coopers Plains, where he was caught on CCTV footage with his co-accused.
Police arrested Palmer for the charges 171 days ago, and he has remained in custody since.
Palmer told Magistrate Jennifer Batts that he used the cards to purchase alcohol to cope with abuse he suffered when he was younger.
“It was a stupid mistake and I take full responsibility,” he said.
Ms Batts sentenced Palmer to 171 days imprisonment and declared his time already served.
Palmer will soon face additional charges of common assault and assault occasioning bodily harm at the Beenleigh Magistrates Court.
