A north Brisbane grandmother who stole food, cosmetics, electronics and handbags and used stolen credits cards has been sentenced in court.

A disabled grandmother has been placed on probation for stealing from major shopping chains and using a stolen credit card
Renita Joan Hogan, 49, pleaded guilty at Sandgate Magistrates Court to stealing cosmetics and a drink from Chemist Warehouse Virginia, stealing electrical goods and personal items from Taigum Big W, stealing handbags from Strandbags and stealing $20 of rump steaks from Zillmere IGA. She also pleaded guilty to fraud and multiple charges of attempted fraud.

Hogan also pleaded guilty to receiving a stolen credit card in Taigum, that she fraudulently used once for $100 and attempting to use it multiple other times.
The court heard Hogan, a grandmother, was partially disabled after having a stroke and struggled financially.
She said she stole the meat as her own debit card had been taken and she had no way of paying for food to feed her family.
The court heard she often went to charities to get food for her family.,
She was placed onto probation for 15 months and ordered to repay $120 for the stolen meat and money defrauded from the stolen credit card.
