Fast food chain Guzman y Gomez (GYG), which sparked the Mexican food revolution in Australia with its fast and fresh meals, has announced it will open a 24-hour, seven day a week restaurant in Lutwyche.
A development application has been lodged for two fast food restaurants, which includes a drive-through GYG at 555 Lutwyche Rd.
There’s no word yet on what the second restaurant will be.
If approved, GYG will have 230 sqm of indoor and outdoor dining, a loading bay, 14 car parks and a drive-through.
The second restaurant will have 150 sqm of indoor dining, a loading bay, nine car parks and a drive-through.
The proposed building, designed by Verve Building Design, is set back from Lutwyche Rd at its intersection with Chalk St.
Access will be via Chalk St and pedestrian access via Bradshaw and Chalk streets and Lutwyche Rd.
“The overall layout includes pedestrian linkages between the buildings as well as to the street and car parking areas to result in a well integrated site,” the planners at Planning Initiatives said in the DA documentation.
“The proposed layout includes significant landscaped setbacks in recognition of the intentions of the zone and neighbourhood plan, which can make a contribution to the character of the streetscape and provide for a pleasant pedestrian environment.”
The centre will be open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
GYG currently has 53 stores in Queensland, with its latest addition in Rochedale which opened on May 4.
