A massive Westfield shopping centre has been evacuated this morning, with four fire crews on scene after reports of an electrical fire.
A QFES spokeswoman said firefighters arrived at the North Lakes Westfield shopping centre at 8.30am this morning (Tuesday, May 9).
Four fire crews evacuated the retail complex before working to find the source of the smoke.
QAS also was on scene but there were no injuries and everyone inside was believed to have been evacuated.
“At 8.50am they located a small fire in some electrical equipment and it was extinguished,” the QFES spokeswoman said.
“Crews remain on scene... just standing by waiting for some contractors to arrive.
“It’s all under control.”
The QFES spokeswoman said they were unsure when shoppers and workers would be allowed back inside the centre.
