Clients of a Southeast Queensland hairdressing franchise have been left in the lurch after three salons abruptly shut down, leaving prepaid appointments unresolved.

A string of Brisbane hairdressing salons have closed down across major Brisbane shopping centres, shocking customers who are awaiting reimbursement for prepaid appointments.

Blue Diamond Hair Co opened three stores at Logan Hyperdome, Westfield Garden City and Westfield North Lakes in January 2021 and branded themselves as a salon that combines “precision and luxury”.

The business also provided spray tanning, makeup and various other beauty treatments.

Customers were left in the dark when Blue Diamond Hair Co closed its doors in January 2024 at the Westfield sites, and February 21 at Hyperdome, reportedly without notifying their customers.

The company has not acknowledged closure on their social media or website however the business is listed as “permanently closed” on Google.

Logan Hyperdome, Westfield Garden City and Westfield North Lakes all confirmed the closures but were unable to provide a reason.

Regular customer Michelle Harper said the salon was holding her $50 deposit.

“So many people have paid a deposit and it isn’t being returned,” Mrs Harper said.

Another customer Aneeta Kumar she had never been to the salon but made her first appointment last month.

“I had booked online with a $20 deposit,” Miss Kumar said.

“I got a SMS that the booking was cancelled, however they wouldn’t answer any calls, I’ve emailed and called but had no response from the owners,” he said.

Another regular client she has tried to call the salon on the number provided on the website with no response.

“The salon closing explains why they didn’t return my calls,” she said.
