SOUTHERN Cross Educational Enterprises has had a busy start to 2018. Ben Davies explains what the organisation has been up to.

Q. What is Southern Cross Educational Enterprises and what does it do?

A. We started out as a distributor of

Accelerated Christian Education (A.C.E.)

resources and have since moved into new areas of ministry. We now operate a home schooling support service, run a music

academy, and manage Redwood College which is school that offers a distance

education program. We are also home to a new church, Accelerate. We operate in Australia and the South Pacific and our heart is to equip young people via biblical education.

Q. Your church, Accelerate Church, will be

launched on March 25. Tell us about it.

A. Jesus is our message; we are Jesus people,

but not religious people. Our heart is to love

everyone and bring a positive, spiritual impact

through serving the local community. We

believe Accelerate is a church for people of all

ages and backgrounds.

Q. How will you be celebrating the launch?

A. There’s going to be loads of food, fun for the

kids, activities for the whole family, live music

and special guests. We have a saying here:

“Church is to be enjoyed, not endured”.

Q. How can the community get involved?

A. Join us on a Sunday, 9.30am or Tuesday nights at 7.30pm where we also have a Mandarin interpreter.

Q. The timing is perfect with Easter just around the corner. What’s planned?

A. Our Easter Sunday service at 9.30am.

Q. SCEE has been distributing educational resources overseas, how does this work?

A. We distribute in the South Pacific and work

with organisations such as schools as well as individual families to provide them with resources that enable them to graduate at a Year 12 standard.

Q. Why are all of these ventures important and how do they benefit the community?

A. We simply love people and want to serve

them and empower them to live their best life.
