TO celebrate the Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival, The Golden Ox has carefully crafted a menu to showcase what it does best — fresh seafood.
For the entire month of September, diners can indulge in a wide selection of seafood with an emphasis on two things — fresh and local, head chef Peter Tzimas says.
“We are spoiled for choice here in Moreton Bay, with some of the world’s best and freshest seafood caught in the waters right on our doorstep,” Peter says.
Recognised on menus all around the world, local superstar and Ox menu regular, the Moreton Bay bug makes an extra special appearance on the September seafood menu.
“It’s only fitting to celebrate the Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival by featuring many local products from the bay such as the bugs and sand crabs. These local delicacies are stars of our immensely popular hot and cold seafood platters.
“The versatility of the Moreton Bay bug means you’ll find it on the September menu in a variety of ways — we’ve got bugs Galliano, chilli ginger bugs, it joins prawns, scallops, black lip mussels and snapper in the seafood medley as well as being included in our famous seafood platters.”
The September seafood menu also showcases fresh produce from throughout southeast Queensland including Sunshine Coast prawns, Harvey Bay scallops and Mooloolaba whiting fillets.
“We work closely with fishermen and trawlers up and down the coast, so that we can bring our customers the best and freshest seafood all year round.”
In addition to The Golden Ox’s regular menus, the September seafood menu will be a fantastic ambassador for the Moreton Bay Food and Wine Festival.
Bookings are recommended, particularly if you would like to indulge in the hot and cold seafood platter. To avoid disappointment, phone the friendly team on 3283 1833.
