Are you old enough to have grandkids but too young to be sitting at home, alone with the knitting needles? Then Moreton Bay Regional Council’s got you covered.
Get outside, get active and get the grandkids to pack a picnic — because you deserve to be spoiled.
This National Grandparents Day we’re celebrating with the beloved Ferny Hills Picnic in the Park on October 27, from 9am-noon.
A selection of gourmet food trucks will be serving up delicious treats as well as everyone’s favourite Aussie sausage sizzle.
There will also be plenty of entertainment on offer including live music and a free animal farm. And if you’re feeling really adventurous, the carnival rides will only cost you $2.
Councillor Matt Constance (Div 10) says there’s nothing better than bringing families together in the great outdoors.
“Ferny Hills Picnic in the Park is a great event for the whole family,” he says.
“It’s sure to be a great morning out with lots of fun planned to happen at George Willmore Park.
“The live and local line-up of music we’ll have onstage might even get you up and moving, with performances from Daniel J Lewis, Hannah Bryant and The Firedrakes.”
