EXPERIENCE the Hills District like never before with a big program of events and activities spanning the month of May as part of the Hills Festival.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) in partnership with Moreton Bay Regional Council and community groups, have captured the vibrancy and diversity of the district in a month-long program of events and family friendly entertainment.
MBRIT chief executive Shane Newcombe is excited about this year’s Hills Festival and is looking forward to celebrating all that makes this community so wonderful.
“May is set to be a fun-filled month for locals and visitors alike, who’ll be spoiled for choice with activities and attractions around the Hills District,” he says.
“The festival is best known for its family favourite Hills Carnivale, which will be back bigger and better than ever on May 26 at George Wilmore Park from noon, with an exciting program.”
Councillor Matt Constance (Div 10) says with an extensive program of entertainment for everyone, the Hills Carnivale is a must for families each year.
“There’s so much to see and do at the Hills Carnivale that won’t hurt the family budget,” he says.
“We’ve got $2 rides, two stages of entertainment, free workshops, delicious food stalls and best of all, a huge fireworks finale.”
The popular Hills District and Bunya Garden Competition and Mother’s Day Picnic in the Park have also made their way onto the festival program again this year, as well as events at Arana Hills Library.
“It also gives you the chance to spoil mum this Mother’s Day at the Mother’s Day Picnic in the Park, so why not make her feel extra special and bring along a blanket or folding chair for an afternoon of free live music and food trucks at George Wilmore Park?
“And from tips and tricks from gardening gurus, career councillors to finance experts, there’s something for everyone at the Arana Hills Library during May,” Cr Constance says.
