WHEN the sun sets on Redcliffe KiteFest, another party begins – KiteFest After Dark.
Illuminated kites, funky stage entertainment and a huge jet ski stunt show and fireworks finale is in store for this year’s brand-new night-time component.
From 4pm on Saturday, August 25, KiteFest After Dark will be the hottest place to be with a huge line-up of entertainment for the whole family, explains Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) chief executive Shane Newcombe.
“Visitors have been asking for this sort of evening program for years, and we’ve certainly delivered with KiteFest After Dark,” he says.
“The Kindred Main Stage will really get the Saturday night party started with an awesome program of live entertainment – we’ve got the funky Fonti Brothers, The Lyrical and Steel Syndicate warming up the crowds, before popular Brisbane band Pocketlove takes to the stage to really get the crowds out of their seats.”
If all the dancing has made you work up an appetite – don’t worry, you won’t stay hungry for long.
“When you’re not up and dancing to the awesome entertainment, you can sit back and relax at the Village Motors Bar & Grill and enjoy a bite to eat or something cold to drink or dig into one of the many food trucks guaranteed to satisfy any craving,” he says.
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland says a highlight of the new evening program will be the illuminated and neon kite display dotting the night sky.

“What happens when a jet ski stunt show combines with a huge fireworks display? Well, you’ll find out at KiteFest After Dark,” Cr Sutherland says.
“The incredible crew at the Redcliffe Kite Club have put together a night-time kite display with a neon twist, which will be a sight not to be missed. And the evening will end on a bang with a huge fireworks finale igniting over Moreton Bay.”
KiteFest After Dark is a brand-new addition to the annual Redcliffe KiteFest program, held on Saturday, August 25 and Sunday, August 26 at Pelican Park, Clontarf.
