Moreton Kids Festival returns for its third year to celebrate the wide-eyed wonderment and enthusiasm of youth with a program full of family friendly entertainment and fun.
On Sunday, October 13, Pine Rivers Park at Strathpine will be transformed into a world dedicated to kids.
Families will be treated to free rides, live stage shows, activities, workshops, roving performers, food trucks, market stalls and more.
Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) chairman Shane Newcombe says the program is full of colour, fun, excitement and adventure.
“This year we have the perfect mix of family fun for all ages, with the very popular unlimited free rides in the Brisbane Kids Fun Kids zone returning,” he says.
“Plus, there will be five worlds of fun sure to spark the curiosity of every little mind, and a full day of entertainment on the Strathpine Centre Main Stage.
“We are very excited for the third year of Moreton Kids Festival and are looking forward to having families come together for a full day of family fun that won’t break the bank.”
Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland says there’s plenty on offer to cater to every child’s passion.
“Whether your kid is artsy, sporty, scientific, adventurous, techy or loves nature, we’ve got them covered with five unique worlds of fun at this year’s KidsFest,” he says.
“There’ll be live stage shows, workshops and roving performances and, don’t worry adults, we’re looking after you with food trucks and market stalls.
“There really is something for everyone.”
Those feet will be moving in the Active Kids Zone, where a series of sporting activities will encourage youngsters to join in outdoor activities and workshops including cricket, NRL workshops and the NERF Battle Zone.
Sesame Lane Creative Kids will offer hands-on art and craft activities designed to ignite young imaginations.
And children can get back to nature in the Green Kids zone. In this area, they will learn about recycling, engage in sustainable activities, enjoy a wildlife and reptile show and give their green thumbs a workout during gardening workshops and activities.
Brisbane Kids Fun Kids zone is for little adrenaline junkies who will get plenty of thrills thanks to free rides all day.
A newcomer this year is Innovative Kids, brought together by Innovate Moreton Bay.
In this world, children will think outside the box with augmented reality, virtual reality and robotic activities to bend their minds.
On the Strathpine Centre Main Stage, youngsters will be treated to not one, but two hit stage shows.
Elmo and Friends and Spider-Man Appreciation Day will be performing two live shows throughout the day.
Learn, discover, play and smile all day long at Moreton Kids Festival 2019. The full program will be announced soon.
