Discover Tastes of Moreton Bay with big program of foodie events

The month-long Tastes of Moreton Bay is off and running, but don’t worry, there are plenty of events in September to sink your teeth into if you’ve been a bit slow off the mark.

The month-long Tastes of Moreton Bay is off and running, but don’t worry, there are plenty of events in September to sink your teeth into if you’ve been a bit slow off the mark.

The foodie extravaganza is celebrating the mouth-watering array of food produced in the region and the talented chefs who use it to create innovative and delicious cuisine.

Moreton Bay Region Industry and Tourism (MBRIT) has partnered with Moreton Bay Regional Council to create the program, which runs until September 23.

The program is online at tastesofmoretonbay.com.au, where you can also buy tickets.

FIRST FRIDAY FEAST

What: Four-course lunch, using Millen Farm’s seasonal produce and crafted by head chef Rino

Where: Pause Restaurant, Samford

When: September 6, 11.30am-2pm

Tickets: $39

ROOFTOP COOKING CLASS

What: Join in a hands-on cooking class, with chef Michael Harris, and learn the tips and tricks of preparing a delicious seafood dish. Then, enjoy a meal and glass of wine

Where: The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach

When: September 7, 11am-3pm

Tickets: $39 + booking fee, includes take-home box of ingredients, lunch, glass of wine

PICNIC AT PEMBERLEY

What: Enjoy an afternoon of nibbles, dancing, and games

Where: Abbey Museum of Art & Archaeology

When: September 7

Tickets: from $9.90 + booking fee

FLOCK SPRING FEAST

What: A five-course menu, showcasing seasonal produce from local farms

Where: Flock Eatery, Redcliffe

When: September 7

Tickets: $83.73 + booking fee

LOCAL PRODUCERS LONG LUNCH

What: Enjoy four delicious courses, as well as a tasting experience of their very own beer, wine and gin. You’ll also be joined by and hear from the winemaker, the brewer and the chef

BARBECUE COMPETITION

What: Barbecue and beer will be on show at the three-day Barbecue Competition in conjunction with the National Grilling Network

FARMERS MARKET PRODUCE DINNER

What: Five-course degustation dinner with drinks, plus welcome drinks on the rooftop beforehand

Where: The Sebel Brisbane Margate Beach

When: September 20 (drinks 6.30pm, dinner 7pm)

JETTY LUNCH

What: Head to Sandstone Point Hotel for a true trawler-to-plate experience at this exclusive floating lunch on Pumicestone Passage

When: September 21, noon-3pm

LOOP GROWERS FARM TOUR AND BANQUET

What: Experience the beauty of a local farm, before sitting down for a meal using their produce. Catered by Flock Eatery
