Moreton Bay Boat Club, Scarborough
WITH stunning views of Scarborough Boat Harbour, it’s not surprising that Moreton Bay Boat Club’s menu is packed with seafood.
Head chef Bill Cobb says the modern Australian menu has plenty of options for seafood lovers with platters most popular, along with risotto and fettuccine.
And Bill has a good idea of what Peninsula diners enjoy, having owned Billy’s on the Bay for nine years at Margate.
He’s an experienced hand with more than 50 years in the kitchen, but his passion for creating food that diners enjoy has not waned.
“I just like playing with food. It makes people happy,” he says.
The club is open for members, guests and visitors for lunch from 11.30am-2.30pm; dinner from 5.30-8pm (Sunday to Thursday), and 5.30-8.30pm Friday and Saturday; and breakfast 7.30-10am on Sunday.

Bazil & Co, Scarborough
THIS cafe is heaven for cake lovers, with more than 30 sweet treats to tempt them on any given day.
Owner Tony Torto says his range would be among the largest on the Peninsula and word is spreading.
“We have built up a big following of cake eaters. Our cakes (also) cater for the gluten intolerant and vegans,” he says. A sweet treat would not taste as good without a great cup of coffee.
“Being of Italian origin, I am very fussy about my coffee and pride myself on serving high quality coffee to our customers,” he says.
There are 12 bagel options for lunch, and a breakfast menu including smoked salmon, halloumi and avocado. Bazil & Co is open Tuesday to Sunday from 7am-5pm.
