GET into the festive spirit with the month-long Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region program.

Running every Sunday from November 25 through to December 16, the Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region program features free family-friendly Christmas Carol events at four local parks.

The first is at Caboolture’s Centenary Lakes on November 25, followed by Kinsellas Park at Innovation Place, North Lakes, on December 2; Scarborough Beach Park on December 9; and Pine Rivers Park on December 16.

Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) chief executive Shane Newcombe is excited about the carols which will kick off this festive season.

“The Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region program is an opportunity for the local community to come together to enjoy free family friendly entertainment and celebrate the most wonderful time of the year,” he says.

“Families will be treated to a full festive entertainment program including some very special shows for the kids.”

Moreton Bay Regional Council Mayor Allan Sutherland says Christmas is all about creating family traditions and these events are not to be missed, no matter your age.

“Bring a blanket or chair and enjoy a great evening of entertainment including the stunning fireworks finales from 8pm,” Cr Sutherland says.

“Singing is obviously encouraged but if you’re shy there’s plenty else to enjoy with roving performers, live bands, choirs and dance groups to keep the whole family entertained.”

The always popular, Santa’s Village will return with free Christmas craft activities and workshops and a free jumping castle.

Santa Claus will make a special guest appearance at each event.

Parents can browse the twilight markets and even get some last-minute Christmas gift shopping done.

Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region doesn’t end with just these four events, MBRIT and Moreton Bay Regional Council are also supporting an extended calendar of Christmas events. These events are run by local community groups and take place all over the region throughout December.

Christmas in the Moreton Bay Region is presented by Moreton Bay Region Industry & Tourism (MBRIT) and proudly supported by Moreton Bay Regional Council.
