‘You can’t stay here if you’re not going to f**k me’: A Brisbane man verbally abused his partner and kicked her out of his home because she refused to have sex with him, a court has heard.

A Brisbane man has faced court after he verbally abused his partner and kicked her out of his Bayside home after she refused to have sex with him, a court has heard.

The 45-year-old Lawnton man pleaded guilty in the Pine Rivers Magistrate Court today (June 13) to one count of breaching a Domestic Violence Order (DVO).

The man repeatedly asked his partner, who had been living with him, to have sex, the court heard. The incidents allegedly happened on Sunday (June 12).

“He tried to approach her multiple times throughout the night to have sexual intercourse,” police prosecutor Mardi Nowitzki said.

Later on Sunday night he became fed up with her refusals, kicked her bed, verbally abused her and told her to leave.

“During the night the defendant would kick the bed, pull the blanket, before saying she would have to leave and verbally abusing her,” Ms Nowitzki said.

“He stated ‘I’m not going to let you stay here if you’re not going to f**k me’.”

A man faced Pine Rivers Magistrates Court for breaching a DVO.

The woman reported the incident to police and the man was arrested and taken to the watchouse.

The court heard there was a DVO in place since May 27, 2021.

“Obviously, your behaviour towards the aggrieved is unacceptable,” Magistrate Annette Hennessy said.

“Your behaviour needs a lot more attention in relation to how you treat her when she is there.”

The man’s lawyer, Andrew Stewart, said his client had been with his partner for a long time.

“They’ve been together for 16 years and they do have marital relations,” he said.

The man was convicted and received a 12-month probation order, with a direction to engage in domestic violence counselling.
