Woman in hospital after being hit by car near Patricks Road State School

A woman is in hospital after a pedestrian and vehicle crash outside a primary school north of Brisbane, which has caused traffic delays.

A woman in hospital after a pedestrian and vehicle crash outside a state school north of Brisbane, which has caused traffic delays.

Emergency service crews, including paramedics and police, were called to the scene outside Patricks Road State School at Ferny Hills at 2.45pm.

It is believed an elderly woman was hit by a car while walking outside the school.

Her injuries are not yet known but it is believed they are not life-threatening.

Paramedics have transported her to hospital.

Residents and parents picking their children up from the primary school have reported a backlog of traffic in the area after the crash.

A message was also sent to parents from the schoo.

“Just prior to 3pm this afternoon, we had a traffic incident near the exit to the parent carpark,” the message said.

“Emergency services attended the scene promptly.

“We thank local community members for their quick response and support and thank parents for their patience, at what is always a busy time of day.”
