Plans for a new landscape supplies yard, agricultural supplies store and a waste transfer station at Burpengary East will be considered today at Moreton Bay Council’s general meeting.

Noise and traffic concerns have been raised over a proposed childcare centre at Burpengary

A townhouse development threatening one of Moreton Bay’s oldest homes has lapsed

Another second proposal for an asphalt processing and stockpiling plant at Brendale is also on the table for consideration.

The Burpengary East proposal is for land at 550 Old Bay Rd, and has been the subject of some concern about its impact on the surrounding area, particularly noise and plant operation outside the allowed hours.

The site’s northern end is situated just 50m from the nearest residences.

The development at Brendale is proposed for land at Lot 15, Leitchs Rd and would replace the Downer EDI’s existing asphalt plant located at 81 Kremzow Rd.

The proposal is listed as high impact industry.

Council’s planning department has recommended that both developments be approved.

Councillors will consider both applications at today’s general meeting.
