AN APPLICATION for a new childcare centre north of Brisbane will be determined by councillors after concerns were raised about the proposal.
Matthews Property Group applied last November to build a new child care centre at 144 Station St, Burpengary.

A townhouse development threatening one of Moreton Bay’s oldest homes has lapsed
The purpose-built centre would cater to a maximum of 100 children.
The site is owned by the The Corporation of the Trustees of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Brisbane which has granted the developer permission to go ahead with the application.
Though the proposed development complies with the Moreton Bay Council’s planning scheme for that site, it “raised community concern” and will instead be determined by councillors.
A neighbour of the proposed child care centre took issues with a number of matters, relating to flooding, noise and traffic impacts.
Despite the concerns, council’s planning staff have recommended that it be approved.
Councillors will vote on the matter at today’s meeting.
