The man charged over the brutal murder of a couple in Joyner will appear in court tomorrow.

A man accused of killing his parents at their home north of Brisbane will appear in a Queensland court for the first time since being extradited from NSW.

THE man charged over the brutal murder of a couple in Joyner will appear in court tomorrow.

Christopher Puglia, 31, was arrested late Sunday at Berowra, north of Sydney, and was extradited to Queensland to face charges over the murder of his parents Loris and Franco Puglia, both 59, at their home in Joyner.

Shortly before 2pm on Sunday, officers were called to the Joyner home after a relative made the gruesome discovery and reported it to police.

Queensland Police did not confirm media reports that a sledgehammer may have been used in the crime.

Puglia is due to appear at Pine Rivers Magistrates’ Court tomorrow.

Meanwhile police are appealing for public assistance as investigations into the double homicide continue.

An Investigation Centre has been set up at Petrie Police Station.

Investigators are appealing for anyone who was in the vicinity of Todds and Gordon Crossing roads between 3pm and 6:30pm on Saturday, May 16, to come forward.

Anyone with information can drop in to a Command Post which will be established at Wright Reserve between 3pm and 6:30pm this Saturday, May 23.

Puglia was arrested and charged by virtue of Queensland Arrest Warrant for two count of murder (domestic violence offence) and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
