A teen has been slammed for her “disgusting” treatment of a Caboolture nurse.

Mackenzie Rose Jean Pearce, 18 of Beerwah, had been drinking before winding up in hospital on October 28.

Prosecutor Sergeant Peter Mitchelson told Caboolture Magistrates Court that when the nurse approached Pearce to help her, Pearce yelled and spat “in their direction”.

“Disgusting behaviour,” Sergeant Mitchelson said.

“She has no history but she certainly hit the ground running with this one — disgraceful,” he said.

Defence solicitor Sharan Kang told the court Pearce was remorseful and had been affected by alcohol and some underlying issues.

Pearce pleaded guilty to attempted common assault in a public place and was ordered to serve 50 hours community service. No conviction was recorded.
