A court north of Brisbane has heard the first mention for a stood-down paramedic facing child exploitation material possession and distribution charges.

Hannah Alyssa Emery, 27, of North Lakes, appeared in the Caboolture Magistrates Court on July 16, 2024, charged with a string of alleged offences.

A plea has yet to be entered.

In January, Ms Emery was also suspended from working as a QAS paramedic by the state’s Office of the Health Ombudsman (OHO).

Court documents alleged that on December 3, 2023 at Morayfield, Ms Emery distributed child exploitation material in the form of computer generated images and used an anonymising service in committing the offence.

Court documents further alleged that between July 1 and November 21 last year in Bridgeman Downs Ms Emery stalked, intimidated, harassed or abused an unnamed victim.

It was also alleged, the court documents stated, that between November 15 and December 8 last year she dealt with another entity’s identification information, namely social media access information, for the purpose of committing an indictable offence.

The list of charges she faced included: distribution child exploitation material; possessing child exploitation material; obtaining or dealing with another entity's identification information for purpose of committing, or facilitating commission of an indictable offence; possess utensils or pipes etc that had been used; possessing equipment for purpose of committing/facilitating the commission of an offence against S 408D (1); unauthorised access to, or modification of, restricted data; unauthorised modification of data to cause impairment; unlawful stalking; intimidation, harassing or abuse; use of a restricted computer without consent; causing detriment, damage, or gain of more than $5000 or intend to commit indictable offence.

The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) website stated that Ms Emery was first registered as a paramedic in December, 2018.

It stated that she completed a bachelor of paramedic science at the University of the Sunshine Coast that year.

The Caboolture court matter was adjourned to August 14.
