Scott Casselle: Tributes flow for devoted Brisbane father of two killed in crash

The father of a Brisbane man whose life was cut short after an horrific crash has paid tribute to his youngest son who he says will be “forever missed”.

The young man who died in a horror smash at Ocean View has been identified as father-of-two Scott Casselle.

Emergency services were called to the single vehicle accident at the small town north of Brisbane at about 11am on Friday.

A Queensland Police Service spokeswoman said the Mitsubishi Outlander had come off the road and collided with a tree.

Paramedics attended the site on Mount Mee Rd and Freds Rd however Mr Casselle died at the scene.

The 26-year-old married wife Jessica in 2017 and the duo share two little girls.

Scott proudly served with 3RAR in Townsville for five years.

The father of two then worked with corrective services.

His parents Neal and Letitia Casselle are based in Darwin and are desperately trying to find out if they can enter Queensland to farewell their youngest son.

He also leaves behind an older brother, Shane and sister, Jade.

Mr Casselle told the Caboolture Herald he wanted to thank the first responders who assisted his son following the crash.

“We’re extremely grateful to them for doing the job that they do,” he said.

He said family, friends and even school teachers have reached out to share their condolences.

“We are just trying to remember the good times,” Mr Casselle said.

“We can’t even pick up a photo of him at the moment, we can’t bring ourselves to do it.

“He was a great young man that will be forever missed and never forgotten.”

A GoFundMe has been set up by friend Daniel Schwass to help the family with funeral costs.

$1860 has been raised so far from 22 donors

Mr Schwass wrote: “Scott Casselle, a loving family man who has been taken from us too soon.”

“Scott was involved in a car accident on Friday night and tragically passed away at the scene.

“Scott’s passing leaves his wife, and two beautiful young daughters to pick up the pieces.

“This money will go straight to his wife Jess, to help their young family with funeral costs, and the cost of living in the immediate future.”

There has also been an outpouring of grief on social media.

Riley Payne wrote: “Rest In Peace Scott, such a great bloke.”

“Always stood up for others no matter the circumstances,” he said.

“A quality man, terrible news. Praying for Scott’s family,” Jacob Thomson wrote.

While Riley Fletcher said “RIP Scott. Such a horrible thing to hear.”

Chris Keen said it was “very sad news, rest in peace Scott.”

The Forensic Crash Unit is continuing their investigation.

Anyone with information or dashcam footage is asked to come forward.
