Forget singing from your balcony Redcliffe resident have found a new way to show their appreciation for those working on the front lines battling COVID-19.
Residents in two apartment buildings along Marine Pde stood on their balconies and gave a round of applause for all the nurses, emergency servicemen and women, doctors, teachers and others working to help battle coronavirus.

Tanya Moore, who was born in Redcliffe, said she could not help but film the group’s first effort on Sunday night.
“I’m not sure who came up with the idea originally but I got a message from my neighbour saying we are all going to do this clapping thing,” Ms Moore said.
“We pulled it together in a day.”

Hundreds of residents stood on their balconies clapping.
Ms Moore said they planned to do it at 7pm every Sunday.
“It was a bit like how everyone comes out to look at the Christmas lights,” she said.
“People don’t know how to show their appreciation for those on the front lines and this was the Aussie way to show support.
“And we are not very good singers.”
Ms Moore said she noticed a changed in attitude among the other residents.
“Everyone has been so bogged down, it lifted everyone’s spirits a little bit,” she said.
Ms Moore said she had even meet new neighbours during the experience.
“It was nice, everyone was giving a wave, there was a real camaraderie and everyone pulled together,” she said.
It is one of many ways residents have banded together these past few weeks.
People are organising teddy bear hunts for children in neighbourhoods, posting pictures of rainbows in their windows, singing from their balconies, supporting local businesses by ordering take-home meals and deliveries and donating food and items to hospital staff.
