Redcliffe Leagues Club and Redcliffe RSL ready to reopen on Friday as restrictions ease

The Queensland Government’s plan to roll back COVID-19 restrictions sooner than expected means two of Redcliffe’s biggest employers will be able to reopen from noon Friday.
Redcliffe RSL and Redcliffe Leagues Club have been closed for almost four months – costing close to 300 people their jobs.
Both Redcliffe Leagues Club CEO Tony Murphy and Redcliffe RSL general manager Peter Forsey said they were “very excited” to welcome back their employees and customers.
The Leagues Club has 200 employees and the RSL 76 – most of which had been on jobkeeper since COVID-19 restrictions forced the venues to close in March.

Mr Forsey said the RSL would reopen the main club, bistro, Breezes Cafe and gaming machines on Friday.
With The Point to open from July 8.
“We have two different levels so can accommodate 500 people in the venue,” Mr Forsey said.
“It will be different to how we operated prior to the shut down but we will still be offering a great experience for everyone.”
Mr Forsey said the new menu featured a range of items for all budgets and tastebuds.
Customers are advised to book ahead to avoid missing out on a table.
Mr Forsey said while it had been a financially and mentally tough time for many employees all were looking forward to walking back through the doors later this week.

Redcliffe Leagues Club will have a new menu to show off when it reopens on Friday.
“We are back,” Mr Murphy said.
“It is extremely exciting for everyone including staff, it has been carrying on way too long.
“It was starting to take the wind out of our sails.”
He said people were welcome to book but as one of the largest clubs in the state, in terms of space, there would be plenty of room.
Staff at both venues have completed COVID-19 safety training with some employees being appointed as safety ambassadors to ensure everything is kept clean and in line with restrictions.
