$29m shopping centre bid has been launched north of Brisbane by a prominent Queensland property family

A $29 million shopping centre with a new full-line supermarket, medical services and speciality stores has been proposed for a bustling area north of Brisbane.

A new multimillion dollar shopping centre equipped with a full-line supermarket and more than a dozen specialty stores has been proposed for a booming area north of Brisbane.

The ambitious $29 million dollar proposal at Joyner also includes alfresco dining options and medical, health and wellbeing services.

The proposed centre will be located on the corner of Young’s Crossing Road and Gordon’s Crossing Road East and is set to feature 15 specialty stores in total.

A development application has been submitted to the Moreton Bay Regional Council in the hopes of delivering the centre, to be known as Joyner Central, by 2023.

The family behind the development is Lancini Property Group, an award-winning family owned and operated business that has been developing shopping destinations throughout Queensland for 40 years.

Lancini Property Group have a long history of owning and operating their shopping centres long after development completion.

Founded by executive chairman Laurence Lancini, the company also has a diverse portfolio which also includes commercial offices, large-format retail centres and industrial properties.

The group recently submitted an application for a similar sized shopping centre at Burpengary East.

Documents submitted to council show the centre would provide a 3800sq m supermarket with drive through and click and collect services, 275 free carparking spaces, alfresco dining options and medical, health and wellbeing services.

Vehicle and pedestrian access will be available off Gordon’s Crossing Road East and Young’s Crossing Road.

Plans also include a landscaped plaza and community meeting place, trees and communal seating as well as free centre Wi-Fi.

Executive Chairman, Laurence Lancini said servicing the current and future needs of the Joyner community was at the forefront of the proposed Joyner Central development.

“We own and operate all of our shopping centre destinations across Queensland,” Mr Lancini said.

“We are a big part of those communities where our centres are located and the development of Joyner Central will be no different.

“We are currently seeking feedback to understand the local values, characteristics and community needs of the Joyner area so we can integrate that into Joyner Central. The local community is our future community too.”

Lancini Property Group Development Manager Tomas Lancini said it was important for the local residents to be part of the proposed development.

“We want Joyner Central to reflect the Joyner area which is why we’ve asked the local community to share with us what types of specialty stores they’d want to see and certain features they might like in the communal spaces of the centre,” he said.

“We are investing considerably to create a vibrant community space for customers.

A welcoming shopping experience where locals can meet, socialise and conveniently access their daily needs.”

Construction is expected to start in 2022, subject to approval, and is expected to provide up to 290 jobs during construction and upon project completion.
