Complacent residents working from home seem to be making it easy for thieves in one region north of Brisbane with a number of sneak break and enter offences reported this past week.

Twelve pairs of football boots, toilet paper, first aid kit and skateboards are just some of the items pinched by thieves from Redcliffe Peninsula homes this past week.

Police are reminding residents to keep their doors locked, even when they are home, after a number of sneak break and enter offences.

A silver Giant Roam mountain bike with red and black writing was stolen from Donald St between 8am and 8.30am on March 26. A young man with a beard, tattoos on his legs and arms was spotted riding the bike down Arthur St.

It is understood the thief gained entry through an open garage door.

Someone snuck into an unlocked home at Osbourne St, Scarborough, and stole three skateboards and a paddle for a paddle board between March 1 and 8.

Between March 25 and 26 someone entered an unlocked home at Sandwell Crescent, Kippa-Ring, and stole a black wallet and RayBan sunglasses.

An iPhone XR, men’s black leather Rip Curl wallet, Huawei mobile phone and brown and black handbag were stolen between 5pm and 6pm on March 25 from a home at Hornibrook Esplanade.

POLICE TO CRACK DOWN ON SOCIAL DISTANCING

Once again police say the thief gained entry through an open door.

Between 8am and 6pm on March 26 someone entered a home at 26 Reedy St, Redcliffe, through a window, and ate a number of food items.

Sporting clubs, businesses and constructions sites were also targeted by thieves this past week.

Someone stole 12 pairs of football boots from a sports club on George St, Kippa-Ring, between March 22 and 23.

Plumbing fixtures were stolen from a house under construction at Aegean Ave, Newport on March 19.

Someone stole toilet paper, tools and a first aid kit from a construction site at Beaconsfield St Margate between March 25 and 26.

A girl and a boy were reportedly disturbed trying to break into a business at Gomersall St, Redcliffe, at about 1pm on March 28.

A number of tools and number plates were also stolen from cars and utes across the region.

Police are urging everyone to keep their items secured at all times.
