Police charge man after alleged sexual assault at Westfield North Lakes Shopping Centre

A man is in custody after allegedly touching several women and girls at a major shopping centre in Brisbane’s north.

A man has been charged after allegedly sexually assaulting several woman and girls under the age of 16 in a food court at a major shopping centre in Brisbane’s north.

The 32-year-old Kallangur man was allegedly loitering in and around the food court and outside several stores at North Lakes Westfield on May 30 before approaching several women and girls and inappropriately touching them and himself.

He has been charged with one count of sexual assault, indecent treatment of a child under 16, obstruct police and possess dangerous drugs.

The man was denied bail and will appear in Pine Rivers Magistrates Court tomorrow.

According to Queensland Police, detectives believe there could be other victims and are appealing for anyone who may have been assaulted or witnessed inappropriate behaviour in the shopping complex and precinct to contact police.
