A new middle-eastern inspired restaurant will open its doors in Redcliffe this week but it will be missing something most restaurants have — a menu.

A team of chefs from around the world, headed by Adiel Ben-Karmona, are ready to cook up a feast for the senses at the new Pilpel restaurant.

Mr Ben-Karmona has spent $2 million transforming the run-down old Coles building into a middle-eastern inspired restaurant.

While it is not the chef’s first time running a restaurant on the Peninsula it is his first time running one this large.

It can seat up to 250 in the restaurant and a further 250 sit down or 500 standing in the function room.

He transformed the upstairs area to include a boardroom, children’s area complete with 12 arcade games and a cinema, ladies’ room, men’s room with pool table and bathrooms.

Mr Ben-Karmona said he wanted it to be a place families and friends could come for a night out.

There will be no menu at Pilpel.

Diners will be served a selection of entrees then four mains and a selection of desserts — just like his mum used to do back home in Israel.

Mr Ben-Karmona said he expected the average sitting to take about four hours.

There will be plenty of drinks to help the food go down with an automated cocktail machine on order from America.

Customers will be able to use a tablet to order a cocktail and watch it be made on a conveyor belt.

Pilpel will open its doors on Wednesday.

The restaurant is open for lunch as well. Mr Ben-Karmona said he would be offering a locals lunch. It will include a glass of homemade lemonade, anything from the menu, small dessert and small coffee for $19.90.

Tickets for the opening, which will cost $59 are available online at pilpelrestaurant.com.au
