A mother banned from holding a blue card made an attempt to get one so she could volunteer at her child’s school, a court has heard.

Renee Mae Pryer illegally applied for a Blue Card on June 13 last year after someone at Tullawong Primary School suggested she lend a hand at the school.

She had hoped to assist her special needs child who is a student there, Caboolture Magistrates Court heard.

Pryer was the holder of a negative notice preventing her from holding a Blue Card.

This meant making the application was an offence.

There is a maximum sentence of five years in jail if banned holders apply for a card.

The court did not hear why she could not hold a Blue Card.

Pryer, who the court heard had a limited and dated criminal history, pleaded guilty to the offence and was fined $200.

No conviction was recorded.
