Mt Mee Rd closed, motorcyclist crash leaves rider with serious injuries

Paramedics have rushed a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries in a crash in Moreton to a Brisbane hospital. Both lanes of a busy connecting road have now reopened but with delays.

Paramedics have rushed a motorcyclist who suffered serious injuries in a crash in Moreton to a Brisbane hospital.

The crash between a motorcycle and car happened on Mt Mee Rd at King Scrub, in Moreton, about 12.30pm.

A man in his 30s was taken in a serious condition, with significant arm injuries, to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.

Ambulance crews, including high acuity paramedics, were still on scene at 1.30pm.

A total of two ambulance vehicles, three traffic police and a fire appliance were on scene.

One resident claimed the bike rider was travelling at speed and nearly hit a car in front of them which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Others said that section of Mt Mee Rd, just before Ocean View Rd, was a dangerous corner.

The rider of the motorcycle was believed to be a man.

Mt Mee Rd, which had to be closed in both directions, has now reopened, police said. Traffic was still congested at 2pm.

The car and motorbike have bene taken away.
