A Moreton Bay dental hygienist facing more than 90 charges “hasn’t even had time to brush her teeth” while in custody.

North Lakes woman Bree Sharon O’Regan, 37, was arrested after a five-month long police investigation into drug trafficking.

The mother of two appeared via video link at Pine Rivers Courthouse for a bail application on multiple charges including trafficking and supplying dangerous drugs.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Andrea Ford told the court Ms O’Regan was the prime target of the drug trafficking sting despite having minimal criminal history.

Ms O’Regan was charged with more than 90 offences, including 71 counts of supplying dangerous drugs and one count of trafficking dangerous drugs.

“They’re incredibly serious charges, the evidence is incredibly strong” Sergeant Ford told the court.

“By my calculation (Ms O’Regan) is looking at approximately 90 charges before the court, that’s not including the other charges that are not before the court today.”

Lawyer Andrew Owens said his client had been struggling with a drug addiction, had only one previous entry for dishonesty on her criminal history and no prior drug convictions.

Mr Owens also said Ms O’Regan’s family members described her as a bright, bubbly and hardworking dental hygienist who “due to all the movement in custody hasn’t even had time to brush her teeth”.

Magistrate Ross Woodford said Ms O’Regan was “facing lengthy periods of imprisonment” and he deemed her an unacceptable risk of reoffending, before refusing bail.

He said the woman had previously reoffended while on bail.

A brief of evidence has been ordered and the matter will return before the court on May 8 for mention.
