An Australian based property developer has purchased the Mon Komo Hotel, after it was put up for sale in June.

Lewis Land Group, who also own the Belvedere Hotel at Woody Point, purchased the Redcliffe entertainment venue to bolster its portfolio.

“It’s been a great journey and we’re really proud that Mon Komo has become one of the iconic Queensland hotels. We really look forward to coming back to relax and enjoy a cold beverage on Mon Komo’s stunning terrace” Mr Jenkings said.

Lewis Land Group Head of Leisure Brad Jenkins said the buy was a significant milestone for the group.

MORE UPGRADES PLANNED FOR BELVEDERE HOTEL

“We’ve been big admirers of the Hotel for a long time and we’re thrilled to bring it into the portfolio,” Mr Jenkins said.

“It’s a quality venue in all respects and in many ways, it sets the benchmark for hotel service and entertainment excellence.

Lewis Land Group CEO Chris Calvert described the buy as a “strategic acquisition”.

“Lewis Land Group is committed as a long-term investor in the Moreton Bay region, which offers a perfect location for our outdoor, family focused venues,” Mr Calvert said.

“We are looking forward to strengthening our community involvement across our two venues at Redcliffe and Woody Point.

“We’re delighted to be the new custodians of such an iconic venue. The Hotel aligns perfectly with our core values of embracing the great Australian outdoors through the natural environment.”

The sale was managed by Michael Simpson and Leon Alaban of Savills Australia. Timing of settlement is subject to normal regulatory approvals.

Mr Alaban said there was “interest from both hoteliers and investors” from Queensland and interstate.

“We received a high level of inquiry, inspections and ultimately offers submitted,” he said.

Mr Alaban would not comment on the sale price.
