There are plans to give an iconic waterfront hotel, north of Brisbane, a facelift with a new outdoor forecourt, new function rooms and upgraded bar areas.

The Belvedere Hotel at Woody Point, north of Brisbane, first operated in the 1890s as a boarding house before it was converted into a hotel and pub in 1901.

It underwent a $2 million redevelopment in 2016.

This project included rebuilding the kitchen, making it bigger, a centrally-positioned bar and coffee bar.

Hotel general manager Chris Allison said it was now time to upgrade the southern side of the building.

Mr Allison said the hotel had been fortunate to experience a surge in growth over the past two years and needed to expand to meet the demand.

The upgrades will include adding new function areas upstairs, expanding the pizzeria and a complete renovation of the Jetty Bar and gaming area.

Even the carpark will get a touch up.

“It is just continuing on from the upgrades (three) years ago,” Mr Allison said.

He said it was their way of giving back to the customers who had shown them show much support over the years.

Part of the upgrade will also include sprucing up the rear entry with an alfresco area.

“We will also be upgrading the upstairs decking areas so people can take in one of Australia’s best pub sunsets,” Mr Allison said.

Hotel owners Lewis Land Group have lodged an application with Moreton Bay Regional Council for the works.

Mr Allison said they intended to continue trading during construction, which he expected to start some time next year.

He said no price tag had been put on the project yet as it was still in the design phase.
