Has Morayfield’s Keller found true love on Married at First Sight? Only time will tell

HE put his heart on the line in front of the entire country but it was the reaction of his bride’s parents which shocked Married at First Sight’s Keller most in last night’s season opener.

A MORAYFIELD man put his heart on the line when he appeared on Channel 9’s Married at First Sight last night.

Craig Keller (known as Keller), 26, was one of six grooms who married a stranger in the third season of the social experiment.

The series follows couples as they embark on a trial relationship that starts with a wedding before progressing to a honeymoon and living together.

Keller, a former navy engineer, said watching himself get married to primary school teacher Nicole was surreal, especially when he found out that his father-in-law initially disapproved of the match.

“I was surprised watching her dad’s reaction, when he says ‘no’ to me,” he said.

“I had no idea that was his reaction; it’s funny because we get a long really well now.”

Keller said he had been worried at how his bride-to-be would react to his extensive arm, hand and neck tattoos.

“I wasn’t nervous until the day of the wedding,” he said.

“Then everything I kept thinking of was really silly. Like I was worrying about when they say ‘you may now kiss the bride’, do I kiss her on the mouth, the cheek, which way does my head lean?

“It’s crazy because you really know nothing about them until you turn around. But when we held hands, that’s when I knew it was something special.”

Keller said having served in the navy for six years he’d found it hard to find a relationship.

“I had seen previous seasons and really like that you were matched by experts and that it wasn’t just on looks,” he said.

“I thought, ‘When am I ever going to get another chance to do something like this?’ I just had to give it a crack.”

His mother, Kerri Keller, said the family were shocked when Keller told them he was going on the show.

“If anyone was going to do it though, it would be Craig,” she said.
