Deception Bay residents were startled this morning after waking up to an evacuation order from firefighters after a blaze tore through a home shortly before 6am.

Four fire crews rushed to the Wren Street address after receiving multiple triple zero calls from homeowners and neighbours.

When they arrived, the single-story home was already badly damaged, with the fire spreading into the roof of the building.

As a precautionary measure all residents in adjacent buildings were ordered to evacuate; however, those nearby were not affected by the incident.

Queensland ambulance crews treated one patient who suffered minor burns to the legs and was later taken to Redcliffe Hospital in a stable condition.

Queensland Fire Department crews remain on scene as decontamination efforts are still underway.

Investigators have yet to arrive but the cause of the fire is not currently being treated as suspicious.
