“I am feeling happy, but there are mixed emotions due to everything else that is going on at the moment,” Mr Booth said.
“I am looking forward to be officially elected and getting to work.”
Mr Booth said the rapidly changing situation had led him to re-evaluate his priorities.
“I think most priorities will be put on hold, my No. 1 priority is going to be delivering the stimulus package and helping residents and local business owners weather the storm of the coronavirus and help them recover afterwards,” he said.
The father-of-two said he put his hand up for the role after noticing a “dramatic change” in his neighbourhood the past six years.
“The style of developments has changed and I was concerned by children and the next generation would not have the opportunity to have the privileged life I had growing up, or the choice to live on semi acreage,” Mr Booth said.
