Emergency services were called to the scene on Grant Rd and Beacon St, Morayfield just after 11.30am on Sunday.

The motorcycle then struck a sedan which was stationary on Beacon St waiting to turn right into Grant Rd.

Mr Evans was taken to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital but died shortly after arrival.

He leaves behind son Rhys, 14, and daughter Sofia, 12.

It’s understood the mine worker was on his way to visit his children when he was involved in the accident.

The drivers and passengers of the car and 4WD were not physically injured in the incident.

Forensic Crash Unit officers are investigating.

The father-of-two hailed from New Zealand where his spent the majority of his youth.

He only recently moved to Brisbane.

His son, Rhys, bravely paid tribute to his Dad saying he was “a very caring person”.

“He loved his family,” he said.

“That was his whole life his family and he did everything for us.

“I don’t really know what to say, I know what I’m thinking but it’s hard to say.”

The grade nine student said some of his favourite memories are just driving around together.

“We used to just go driving, everywhere and anywhere, we used to just go explore,” Rhys said.

“We used to grab a feed from KFC or somewhere and we called it ‘random broading’.

“We’d just drive around and explore and have a good time.”

He said the family is doing “all right” under the circumstances.

“He was my sisters best friend, so it’s very hard.

“He was an amazing Dad and he loved his family and kids more than anything.”

One of Mr Evans closest friends has started a GoFundMe page to support the grieving family.

Rhys says his family is so appreciative of the help during this difficult time.

“It put a smile on my face,” he said.

“It means Mum doesn’t have to go bankrupt because of it, because people are very generous.”

So far, 54 donors have contributed to a fundraising initiative to help out the Evans family.
