The developers behind the $2.74 billion North Harbour Marina project have provided a rare glimpse at what the new precinct will look like once complete.
Featuring a 400-berth marina, 2000 new homes, waterfront boardwalk, range of restaurants, river activities and a 319-hectare riverside recreational precinct – the North Harbour Marina resembles a mini city.
Last year the State Government committed to declare the project, at Burpengary East, north of Brisbane, a Priority Development Area.
Following the announcement and with plenty of home builders and owners grants on offers buyers snapped up more than 250 home sites in the estate in the past 12 months.
North Harbour Project Director Bryan Finney said he was delighted with the astounding progress in the past year, including the delivery of an additional three stages of development beyond demand anticipated at the start of the 2020, leading to a jobs boom for local trade contractors.
“2020 was been a milestone year for North Harbour in every way – alongside the State Government’s announcement regarding the PDA, we’ve come a long way in a very short space of time,” said Mr Finney.
“In all, we have created an extra $5 million worth of work in civil construction and earthworks in the past six months alone. The community is a hive of activity everywhere you look.”
MAJOR MORETON PROJECTS STARTING IN 2021
Mr Finney said that once the PDA for the marina precinct was officially declared, he anticipated the pace of development throughout the entire North Harbour community to escalate even further.
A joint project between North Harbour Holdings and Trask Land Corporation, the North Harbour Marina precinct will provide 2000 new dwellings across a diverse range of housing options, including waterfront residential lots, units, terrace homes and traditional detached dwelling sites, alongside recreational space featuring 12km of frontage to the Caboolture River.
The precinct is expected to inject a massive $761 million a year into the Moreton Bay region – delivering more than 6,550 ongoing jobs.
