There are plans to build a new service station along a busy road north of Brisbane – just 120m from an existing servo.

Mantra Property Group have lodged an application with Moreton Bay Regional Council to bulldoze six homes at 858-868 Gympie Rd, Lawnton, and build a new service station and food outlet.

The proposal, lodged with council in late November, states the development will also include an automated car wash.

The service station will have a floor space of 200 sqm and the food outlet 215 sqm.

There will be 15 carparks, which is in line with council requirements for a development of this size.
