A magistrate has sent a stern message to a young Redcliffe woman who went on a “rampage” committing a number of “serious offences” in the space of a few weeks.

Kim Louise Delaporte, who is in her 20s, appeared in Redcliffe Magistrates Court via video link from the watch house on Friday and pleaded guilty to 10 charges.

The majority of the offences occurred on July 2.

Police prosecutor Sergeant Tim Clare said Delaporte arrived at her father’s place at about 7.20pm on July 2 in a stolen car.

After recognising the car was stolen Delaporte’s father called the police.

Police had to physically drag her out of the car.

After being arrested, Delaporte spat at her cousin who was helping police remove her belongings from the stolen car.

On top of resisting arrest Delaporte also refused to do a breath test.

She copped an extra charge of failing to comply with the conditions on her driver’s license as the car she stole was a manual and she only had an automatic licence.

Delaporte continued to obstruct police at the watch house refusing to let them conduct a search.

On July 16, Delaporte wilfully damaged a bathroom inside a retail centre at Burpengary after flicking a cigarette into a pile of rubbish on the floor.

“She began picking at the scabs on her arms and made them bleed,” he said.

“She dipped her finger in the blood and painted the walls and floor with her blood. She then removed a ring from her stomach and etched her name into the cell wall and door.”

Magistrate Mark Bucknall said the nature and number of offences committed was concerning.

“She needs to understand that there is a very real consequence for going on a rampage like this,” he said.

He sentenced her to nine months imprisonment, suspending the sentence for two years.

“If she continues to carry on like a pork chop she will be called upon to do the nine months,” Magistrate Bucknall said.
