Carol Ismail killed when hit by a car while cycling near Wamuran home
The two daughters of Carol Ismail, who was killed when hit by a car while cycling with her husband near their Wamuran home, are fighting to overcome the COVID lockout and get back into Queensland to be reunited with their grief-stricken father.

The identity of the 55-year-old Wamuran woman killed in a collision with a car has been confirmed but police are still investigating the cause of the incident.
Carol Ismail and her husband Adam Ismail were cycling not far from their home on Sunday when they were struck by a car at the intersection of Boden and Harrison roads at about 10.20am.
Carol, a mother of two, was flown to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with critical injuries – where she later died.
Her husband, Adam, 56, was taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable but serious condition.
Sergeant Greg Price, the officer-in-charge of the Burpengary Forensic Crash Unit, said Mr Ismail was awake and communicating, but still recovering in hospital.
A long time friend of the family Faruk Buzaki wrote on Facebook that he could not “imagine the pain Adam and his daughters are feeling with not only this devastating tragedy but to somehow cross borders to meet up.”
The Herald understands that the Ismail’s two daughters are overseas and interstate and are trying to return home.
Sgt Price said the 73-year-old driver of the car was not injured in the incident.
Investigations were continuing into this crash and the crash that claimed the life of another local woman on August 15.
Sgt Price said police were called to a head on crash on the D’Aguilar Highway near Bracalba at about 10.30am.
Helena Payne, a 51-year-old D’Aguilar woman died at the scene.
She was the only person in the car.
The driver and passenger in the second vehicle sustained minor injuries.
