A 33-year-old Caboolture woman charged with the murder of Senior Constable David Masters will remain behind bars after the matter was mentioned in court today.
Skye Anne Wallis handed herself into Caboolture Police Station just before midnight yesterday.
It follows days of public appeals by police for Ms Wallis to come forward after she allegedly fled the scene of the crash in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Police will allege Ms Wallis was driving the allegedly stolen car which struck and killed Senior Constable Masters just after 3am on Saturday on the Bruce Highway at Burpengary.
Ms Wallis has been charged with murder, arson, unlawful possession of weapons and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Ms Wallis, who is in custody in the Caboolture Watchhouse, was not required to appear in court today.
Solicitor Hugh Stitt from Hannay Lawyers appeared in court.
Magistrate Peter Hasted ordered a brief of evidence and adjourned the matter to August 19 for a committal mention.
There was no application for bail.
Mr Stitt said he had walked his client into the Caboolture Police Station just before midnight.
He said the weapons charge laid against Ms Wallis related to when she surrendered to police and that a weapon was “inadvertently in her bag with her clothes”.
Mr Stitt would not say whether Ms Wallis intended to fight the charges.
“We can’t have any meaningful discussions until the brief is disclosed,” he said.
“It’s obviously a tragic set of circumstances and I’ll leave it at that.”
Kari O’Brien, 24, of Morayfield, is alleged to have been the passenger in the car at the time of the fatal incident.
Police arrested Ms O’Brien earlier this week and charged her with murder, arson and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
Ms O’Brien’s matter was mentioned in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday – she did not apply for bail.
Her matter was adjourned until August 2.
