Caboolture woman charged with GBH in custody after allegedly trying to torch a Morayfield woman in April

A Caboolture woman was refused bail and is in custody after being charged for allegedly using fuel to try to set fire to a woman she knew, in April.

A Caboolture woman is in custody after being charged for allegedly using fuel to try to set fire to a woman she knew, in April.

Caboolture CIB officers will allege the Caboolture woman splashed an accelerant on to the clothes and hair of the 36-year-old Morayfield woman, before attempting to set her on fire with a lighter.

The incident was alleged to have occurred after the 33-year-old Caboolture woman arrived at a Banksia Beach property around 9.45am on Tuesday, April 4.

The Morayfield woman was able to flee the scene in her vehicle and was uninjured.

Following an extensive investigation, the Caboolture woman was arrested at a Caboolture property on Saturday, and charged with one count of acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm.

Police bail was denied and she appeared in Caboolture Magistrates Court on Monday and was remanded in custody to reappear on Tuesday.
