The moment a boy smashes a woman’s car windscreen in her work parking lot just north of Brisbane, before casually riding away from the scene on his scooter, has been caught on film.

Moreton Bay woman Sophie Miller, 18-years-old, took to a public Facebook Deception Bay community group to share the shocking moment her car windscreen was smashed in a parking lot while she was at work around 4pm Tuesday May 3, 2022.

“If anyone knows this kid’s parents would you please get them to get in contact with me,” Miss Miller posted.

“He has smashed my windscreen...while I was at work.”

Outraged locals took to the comments to share their disdain.

“Not only should they pay for the windscreen this kid needs to learn a lesson,” Michelle Garbers commented.

“He should be made to clean your car every week at a police station!

“Simple punishment but he won’t like it!

“Hopefully he is caught.”

Debra Qalo said ‘people know him.’

“Sadly they won’t report him and he will go on to bigger and nastier crimes,” she commented.

Kim Bright pointed out he was wearing red shorts, a black jumper, and riding a scooter.

“His parents or friends would know him,” she commented.

“Check with centre management if they have footage from their cameras of him in the shopping centre.”

Police have confirmed they received a report of wilful damage in Deception Bay on Tuesday May 3, 2022.

Police said around 4pm an 18-year-old woman reported an unspecified object struck the windscreen of her vehicle causing it to shatter.
